2012 is not only the 40th anniversary of Hospital Radio at Southlands Hospital, it's also the 25th anniversary of our registered charity status (No: 297515).
The service started out as 'Southlands Hospital Broadcasting Service' 40 years ago in January 1972. We became a registered charity in 1987 and since 2004 we've been known as 'Seaside Hospital Radio' when we began broadcasting to Worthing Hospital.

Tune in to Seaside HR on Sunday 13th November for a very special Beatles Hour. Dave Field will be looking back at some of the big hit singles from the Fab Four but instead of playing the hits, he'll be bringing you the tracks you'd have to turn the vinyl over for! Yes an hour of the B-Sides from the Beatles, some of which you may recognise however many that could be new to you!
The Beatles Hour is on air every Sunday at 5pm, and repeated on Friday afternoons at midday.
If you happen to be in Worthing Hospital on the weekend of the 22nd-23rd October, come and say hi to us! We will be handing out our Hospital Radio Magazine on both afternoons between 10am and 4pm on the ground floor of the main hospital in the 'Penguin Foyer' (near the ward lifts). It'll also be a great opportunity to meet a few members of the team and to ask any questions about what we do. So if you or your visitors a're in Worthing Hospital on that weekend drop by and see us!
The best way to wake up is here on Seaside Hospital Radio from the 31st October! Seaside Breakfast will be on air from 7-9 each morinng, including weekends, playing the very best music, classic hits, the best new music, and two triple-plays; That Was The Sixties and The Non-Stop Number Ones, as a little taster for their respective shows which you can hear every week.
Your hosts will be Adam James (Mon-Wed), Chris Sheriff (Thurs & Fri) and Dave Field (weekends), so be sure to tune in and enjoy the best way to start your day, with Seaside Breakfast!
A huge thanks to everyone who came along to our Autumn Fair in Rustington on Saturday morning. We were pleased that the Sun was shining; made for a very relaxing, enjoyable morning and we raised a brilliant £180 for the charity, so thank you all for your support!

Superheroes of all shapes, sizes and ages will be running for charity this weekend for the first Superhero Fun Run in aid of Worthing Hospital.
The run has been organised by the Love Your Hospital charity as part of the ongoing appeal to raise £1million for the hospital’s new cardiac unit and catheterisation laboratory. Seaside Hospital Radio will be organising the public address for the day. Come down and join in the fun from 3pm! (Register to run from 1.30pm). Listeners in Worthing Hospital may be experiencing difficulties tuning into us currently. This is due to an issue with our stereo link which provides the audio service from our studios at Southlands to the Worthing bedside system.
We are aware of the issue and making efforts to get it fixed as a matter of high priority and will make it known here once we are back up and running!
Listeners to our service in Southlands Hospital are not affected by this.
To welcome in the Summer season we are happy to launch our revised programme schedule which begins from July 1st. A couple of changes to note; 'The Magic of Motown' has moved to 9am each weekday and the welcome return of 'Seaside Classic Love Songs' each weeknight from 10. You will also hear 'That Was The Sixties' presenter Dave Field select some classic 60s songs each weekday breakfast between 7-8am, and Adam James with a handful of UK Number One chart hits between 8-9am.

It's here! Yes that time of the year again when Europe's number one party returns. The event this year is being held in Düsseldorf, Germany. You'll be able to watch it live on TV on Saturday night. For Worthing Hospital listeners, simply purchase a pre-paid viewing card for your Hospicom bedside entertainment system.
Judging by the contest's semi-finals held this week, the final looks set to be a very exciting (and somewhat bizarre at times) show. Everything from soft ballads to heavy rock!
Seaside HR are playing classic Eurovision entries all weekend so listen out for your favourites (and yes, Bucks Fizz will be included!)

We successfully raised over £150 which will be put to very good use in our continued efforts to provide a quality radio service to Worthing and Southlands Hospital patients and visitors.

Last month we reported that our broadcast link to Worthing Hospital had been experiencing problems due to a faulty piece of computer equipment. We have successfully replaced the faulty computer, but unfortunately have discovered another seperate issue concerning the audio signal at the Worthing hospital end.
Our engineer is on the case and we are hopeful that after all this time our broadcasts to Worthing hospital will recommence in time for the Christmas programming, as we have a packed schedule lined up this year! Thank you for your patience and kind comments, they are greatly appreciated by all of us at Seaside HR.
This Sunday, 14th November, Seaside Hospital Radio will be honouring the 2 minute silence, paying respect to those who have fought for our country's freedom.
Our feed from Sky News at the Cenotaph in London will begin shortly before 11am, concluding with the Last Post at 2 minutes past.

Seaside HR has a new schedule! Due to popular demand we'll play more classsic Motown in our regular series 'Magic of Motown'; 'Seaside Gold' is now on twice a week on Wednesday and Sunday lunchtimes; You can hear Cecily Woolf's 'Curtain Up' twice a week, with a rundown on what's happening in local theatre; 'Seaside Rock' is now on Saturday evenings, and Stuart Penfold hosts a refreshed Saturday night show playing Party Classics and Disco Favourites in 'Lost In Music'.
We have also introduced a new request show playing your choice of tunes every evening! Tune in for 'Seaside Requests' each weekday at 8pm, and on Sundays at 5pm and 7pm. We enjoyed the opportunity and hopefully managed to spread a little light on hospital radio in Worthing! We will hopefully return to Worthing early in the new year to give away our brand new 2010 edition!

Welcome to our brand new website! A fresher clearer look, more features, more accessability and now even easier to find what you're looking for.
We have updated our presenter pages and we now have a wonderful new section called County Tour (in progress) which will allow you to take a guided tour around many of the towns and villages in the Seaside HR area. You are still able to listen to the latest National Headlines courtesy of IRN and of course find full details on our programmes, membership and our music playlists.

Many thanks to everyone that came along to our coffee morning on the 24th May at the Methodist Church Hall in Brunswick Road, Shoreham-by-Sea.We successfully raised £161.35 which goes towards our current project which is to provide the listeners in Worthing and Southlands Hospital with a 24 Hour broadcasting service.
As part of National Hospital Broadcasting Week SHR have arranged to entertain shoppers at the Woolworths store in Shoreham High Street this coming Saturday 5th April from 10am.Come along and meet some of the team, pick up a free magazine about the station and get some shopping done at the same time!
